“Perhaps the most unique aspect of the Indian Jewish experience is the complete absence of discrimination by a host majority. The secret of India’s tolerance is the Hindu belief which confers legitimacy on a wide diversity of cultural and religious groups even as it forbids movement from one group to another.” - Raphael Meyer
Welcome to the Jews of India
This is a personal project that I started to educate and bring awareness to more people on the diversity of the Jewish Diaspora. Most people think of Jews as Caucasian looking individuals, i.e. Ashkenazi heritage. Today, over 20% of Jews in the world hail from Africa, Asia, South America, India, and non-European locals. I encourage you to click on my profile tab to read more about my life, or click on the other tabs to learn more about the Jews of India in articles, books, and videos. Check out the Artists’ section, which highlight interesting, talented Indian Jews around the world.
